Bagh, AJK:
Civil society groups in Pakistan administrated Kashmir have condemned
civilian deaths along the Line of Control and urged Pakistan and India to
resolve Kashmir conflict through dialogue to save the lives of common citizens.
This demand was made in World Peace Day
Celebrations organised by Press for Peace (PFP) which is a civil society group
working for sustainable peace and development.
The Peace Day celebrations were also supported and joined by Bagh Press
Club, Union of Journalists, Central Union of Journalists,Trade Unions, Shaheen Welfare and other organisations.
On this occasion addressing a rally in
Bagh, speakers expressed their deep concern over tensions between India and
Pakistan along borders
“Recent shelling at Line of Control has worsened
the socioeconomic conditions on both sides of border, therefore, India and
Pakistani should respect breaches of ceasefire agreement”, they said.
They said that it is time for world
community to bring concentrate measures to defeat extremist forces to bring
peace in conflict regions.
‘”Billions of dollars are wasted on the
production and sales of arms, which could have been spent to lesson miseries of
humanity”.
The speakers urged United Nations to
play a decisive role to stop bloodshed in Kashmir, Burma, Afghanistan,
Palestine and other regions.
“Sustainable peace in the world could
not be achieved unless every citizen of the world is empowered and each nation
is treated equally “, they mainlined.
Press For Peace senior official Yousuf Kashmiri, Shoukat Temoor, Pervez ulHasn,
Sardar Ishtiaq, Tahir Abbasi, Raja Ashraf, Basharat Dar, Yousaf Mughal(editor Mahal),Ifthikhar Gulzar, Traders Leaders MashhalYounas, Nasir Laeeq and others spoke on this occasion.
