End of Exploitation of workers demanded

Bagh, (A J & K): May 1, 2009:
Like all parts of region World Labour Day was observed in Pakistan Controlled Kashmir with renewed pledge for the rights of working class. A large rally was taken in Bagh District, organized by local civil rights groups and trade unions.
A large number of officials and members trade unions, activists and employees joined the rally and expressed great homage to the martyrs of Chicago, pledging that struggle for the rights of workers and marginalize classes would be continued.
The organizations and groups which actively participated in rally were: Sanitary Workers Association, Action Aid, and Press for Peace (PFP), APECA, AJK, Pera- Medical Staff Association (PMSA), SPO, and Teachers Organization and others local chapters of employees bodies.
Addressing the rally different speakers stressed upon government to right off employee’s Flaxy Loans. They also demanded to increase wages of low grade workers and employees.
The speakers also criticized the capitalist policies of WTO, IMF and World Bank. ‘These international organizations have become protectors of rich nations and farmers and poor communities have been neglected in the growing corporate culture’, it was observed.
